The young deer, later named Cha Lao, was only a few days old and in desperate need of help. Street dogs were chasing him, and he barked in an attempt to fend them off, a behavior muntjac deer exhibit when threatened. Given his age and size, it was clear he wouldn’t survive on his own much longer.
Swift Rescue
Responding promptly, the WFFT team managed to capture Cha Lao and rushed him to their wildlife hospital. There, he received immediate specialist care, including bottle-feeding, which helped him relax and feel secure.
On the Road to Recovery
Under the care of his rescuers, Cha Lao is showing promising signs of recovery. He takes daily walks around the veterinary clinic to build his strength. Though still a bit unsteady, he’s growing stronger each day, bravely exploring his new surroundings.
