One evening, a resident of Southern California came home from work to an unexpected sight. There, tied to his gate, was a small, unfamiliar dog wagging her tail in relief as he approached. Next to her was a bag filled with her belongings and a heartbreaking note that read, “Free dog, needs a good home.”
An Unexpected Discovery

The man’s post soon reached Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy dog rescue. She and her rescue partners went to pick up the dog, who greeted them with the biggest smile. “She was so excited, she just melted in their arms,” Hall said. “She was so happy and thankful.”
Safe and Sound
They named the dog Halo and took her to Camino Pet Hospital. The staff determined that Halo was just a puppy, not even a year old. She was scanned from head to tail and found to be healthy and impeccably clean. “She didn’t have a single flea on her,” Hall noted, suggesting that her previous family had cared for her well, despite leaving her tied to a stranger’s fence.
Awaiting Her Forever Home
For now, Halo is in foster care, still waiting for her forever family. Hall is confident that someone will soon come along to give Halo the loving home she deserves. “She’s just a love,” Hall said. “I can’t wait for her to finally be home.”
